This piece was inspired after viewing a NYC gallery show of the noted artist Gerhard Richter. The contemporary German artist is 91 years old and still producing art! He was masterful at pairing vivid colors with the seemingly simple repetition of shapes. This work riffs on his approach using the ubiquitous line: It starts with a strong sapphire blue; then blended with golden yellow it eventually fades into a pale minty green—a combo of the two primary colors.
