This wall clock has a Mission/Arts and Crafts flair—especially with its pins, raised frame elements, and lap joinery so characteristic of much Mission-style work. I mounted thin slabs of cherry on the front and back of a plank of ash, a dense, cream-colored wood that adds surprise when this piece is viewed from the side. The frame elements are made of quartersawn sycamore. This species has a rather plain figure UNLESS it is quartersawn, which introduces the lively pattern of fleck that you see in my piece. The quartz clock movement is battery-driven, and I will include instructions for hanging this clock and for removing the clock insert to change the time or battery. It's all easy.
