GoldenGrove Unleaving I
For almost 40 years Paul and I lived on a former farm with wooded acreage. We loved it dearly, even calling it our "Little Eden" but, as we got older, caring for it became increasingly burdensome until we eventually thought it was wiser to move to Kingston. That decision having been reached, I went around the place creating many images of it. This one of a grove of trees by the side of our house is now a keepsake which gives me much pleasure. The name of this pastel and the next is taken from a line in a poem by Gerard Manley Hopkins.
