Somewhere in every quilt the York has gifted to family and friends there has been a log cabin, so the recipient had an ideal home filled with love to shelter under. This pillow is the manifestation of the ideal happy home, fabrics full of cheerful colors and favorite patterns making up a welcoming house tucked in among the trees with a triangular sun shining from the corner holding the promise of a bright day ahead. Like the traditional log cabin pattern this design incorporates long strips at right angles. This pillow reminds can remind it’s owner that one’s home can be wherever there is love. The original design is a combination of pieced and appliquéd work all selected, stitched and quilted with love. The pillow front is quilted using variegated thread to a muslin backing fabric and the rear of the pillow cover is the same cream fabric as the field with an envelope closure on the rear side. This pillow cover will be a great addition to any couch, chair, bed, especially for those young at heart who believe in the power of love. The pillow is shown with a 20x20” pillow insert. The insert is not included in this sale.

Each of the quits for this exhibit is inspired by current affairs and the stress the artist sees in the world. Prior to this show all York’s quilts have been made for friends and family members as a way to show her love with each stitch. Wishing to stitch the world together and because quilts are a unique functional art form that provides of warmth and comfort, York hopes you will enjoy the love and passion that has gone into creating this one of a kind piece and that it may bring you comfort.
