Lilies provide the artist with a variety of shapes and colors. I made these lilies basically white so they didn't compete with the color and texture of the vase. The accent colors of the flowers harmonize with the colors of the vase instead of competing with them. The original version was titled WHITE LILIES ON BLACK and was featured in the Black and White show on Fusionartps.com Nov. of 21 to Feb of 21.

Details

This piece went through quite a transformation as it progressed to this final state. It began as a complete pencil drawing and progressed to white lilies in a bowl with a black background. Moving on to the computer, I made use of digital techniques by redoing the entire background in soft colors, and then pearlized the vase, added new color to the flowers and increased the number of flowers from three to seven.
