Every teapot Lucy makes is fully functional art, intended to be used and also look pretty on an open shelf. The body and spout are hand-thrown and assembled when the clay is at the leatherhard stage.
This teapot is one of a kind, with unique details added during different phases of the making process. Underglazes are used to blend an ombre base of deep blue and greens. Latex resist applied to mask out a knotted swirl that swishes across the form.
A series of small holes where the spout meets the body will strain large tea leaves but for smaller loose-leaf tea a tea ball is recommended, as is handwashing.
