Inspired by Japanese stacking spice jars, this one-of-a-kind, 5-piece stacked jar is made from a rich brown stoneware (ceramic).
Outside, it was glazed only with drizzles of Japanese shino and black underglaze, then gold luster. It is reminiscent of trails and pathways rising upwards in the high-altitude light. Inside, each jar reveals a vibrant treasure made with melted Murano glass. It measures 9 1/2” tall.
This piece was accepted and shown in the 14th Annual Juried National Exhibition at the Idaho Falls Arts Council in Idaho Falls, ID (March-May 2022).
