I designed this wall clock with a Mission or Arts and Crafts flair. The redwood base is quilted, which in figured wood refers to a type of grain pattern. Such wood has a wavy pattern, often similar to ripples on water. The wow color you see here is natural--no stain was used. I dyed the sycamore "frames" black because I like the dramatic effect of red and black next to each other. The quartz movement is battery-driven, and I will include instructions for hanging this clock and for removing the clock insert to change the time or battery. It's all easy.
