I used a photograph that I had taken as a reference for this painting. Whilst walking near the Beacon Institute of Rivers and Estuaries I came across this opening and an amazing view of the Hudson River and the surrounding mountains. I wanted to capture the contrast of the deep shade and brightly lit areas.

• 9" x 12"
• Acrylic painting on paper, mounted on a 7/8” deep, wood cradle board.
• This method of displaying the art work does not need a frame.The edges have either been left as natural wood (plus varnish) or hand painted. The artwork is protected by coats of varnish, therefore eliminating protective glass.
