Terry Murray is a practicing artist with a studio in Cornwall NY. Over the past 16 years he has explored the intersection of nature and human nature through paint, wood assemblage, and digital creations. His work explores human vain attempts to quantify and control the dynamic, evolving, mysterious forces of the natural world.
Creating and teaching are interconnected for Terry. He is a story seeker and a visual storyteller. He is an Associate Professor Emeritus in the School of Education at SUNY New Paltz. Over the past 40 years, he has taught part and full-time in the Humanistic/ Multicultural Education Program (now the Social Justice Educational Studies Program) graduate program. Terry earned his PhD in Curriculum at SUNY Albany.
Terry is traveling the Buddhist path and has been a member of the Budding Flower Sangha in the tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh for 12 years. He has taught mindfulness, meditation, and contemplative arts courses in a wide range of community settings. His spiritual journey continues to inspire and shape his creative work.
