Brooklyn Bridge with Sloop Clearwater
Image size: 12" x 9"
Brooklyn Bridge with Sloop Clearwater is a work from imagination, although real references were used for both the bridge and the Sloop Clearwater, the replica (brainchild of Pete Seeger) of a 19th century Hudson River sloop, built in 1969, whose mission was and still is environmental education and keeping the river clean. The Clearwater Great Hudson River Revival takes place annually in Croton Point Park, NY, to raise money for the Clearwater’s causes. I have crewed on the boat on several occasions, as both a deck hand and musician - an exhilarating experience!
