About the Artist

Biography

Karen Whitman is a Woodstock, NY printmaker, specializing in linoleum block prints. She has a BFA in Printmaking from SUNY Buffalo and studied at The Art Students League of NY. She has won numerous regional and national awards including seven national Gold Medals of Honor. Karen is a member of The Society of American Graphic Artists and The Allied Artists of America and has been published in American Artist Magazine and The Journal of The Print World.

Whitman’s prints are in the collections of the British Museum, The Institute of Fine Arts in Taipei, The R. W. Norton Art Gallery in Shreveport, LA, The Museum of the City of New York, The New York Public Library, and The New-York Historical Society, among others. Karen’s work was featured in American Artist Magazine and Journal of The Print World. She is listed in Who's Who in American Art and Who’s Who in America and was a recipient of the Clark Hulings Fund Art Business Accelerator Fellowship in 2019.
